C.A.D *

Here are flat drawings for the evening dresses we designed for Ann Mao. I have so far completed four pages on adobe which is two designs. I have two more to create on illustrator ( front and back).
I have also got my spec sheets to create, and also a c.a.d  essay and file to produce so I am feeling stressed. At the moment I am finding it hard to even think about other projects or even going out!. But overall I feel my flats do look really good and i am prid of what I have managed to produce!.

SWOT Analysis For Evening Dress*

I recieved my mark back for my evening wear dress  >42%

I am very dissapointed with this mark because in the end I tried my hardest on the construction of the dress. however I could of spent more time on my sketchbook, as looking back through it there just wasn't enough annotation or designs..

My weaknesses:
I feel my pattern cutting could be alot better.
I have difficulty getting my ideas across and I feel that loses me marks. I'm also not very good at annotating.
I also feel that I need to listen more to me teachers and friends.

My strengths are:
my presentation of my sketchbook,
illustration and drawings.
My sewing skills have developed and i'm alot better. I don't need as much help any more of teachers.
I have carefully considered the possible solutions to variuos problems as and when they occured.

Opportunities:
be more precise when pattern cutting.
listen more to what my teachers are telling me and write down things I get told to improve on.
Spend more time checking my work to make sure its accurate.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2009*

I have been looking at Marc Jacobs, and have been excited to see this 80's inspired collection. I absolutely love the range of colours hes used in this collection. I have been inspired to make more quirky designs after looking through this..

Creating my Toile for 80's project *

First of all I started with a basic pattern block for narrow tapered leg trousers. After tracing this, I then dropped the crotch by a few cm. Next, I made the trousers higher by adding 5 cm , this is because my design is high waisted.
Here, In the original pattern block there are darts in the front and back,  so I have took them out of the front and put in 2 pleats on either side. the pleats are 5cm apart. I then added and extra 10 cm onto the side of the pattern and narrowed it in, this is because the pleats are 5 cm. I also made the leg alot more skinnier and I took 10cm of the trousers so they are alot shorter.
 I then cut out calico.
Here, I put the darts in the back.
I measured 5cm down from the top of the fabric on each pleat, and each pleat is 5cm. I then began to sew the pleat . I done the pleat this way as my trousers are paper bag, so I would like them to open.
